Date a Bullet

Actually two OVAs's that tell one story, Dead or Bullet and Nightmare or Queen, that followed on the third season of Date A Live.

And it involves my favorite of the series Kurumi, so of course I watched this.

In the story, one of the timefragment clones of Kurumi ends up in the Neighbouring World where she is entered into a battle royal with a heap of Quasi-Spirits.  She overpowers them rather easily, until she has to face a childhood friend going by the nomicker Queen and has similar powers.

And what role does Hibiko, a young girl, in all this?

A fun little sidestory, this movie was quite fun if you love the slightly cucoo Kurumi, and a must watch if you like Date A Live.

Yuno Gasai Painting

 It's done!

My Yuno Gasai collage painting for Noshi.

Yuno from Future Diary is her waifu, but sadly merchandise of her, both official and fanmade, is extremely rare.  So as you could read in the past, I went about and used my years of miniature painting skills, and Bob Ross tutorials, to make one for her.

And now, after the varnishing and framing past saturday, it is all done and ready to be hung up above her desk.

This was an extremely fun thing to do, and very relaxing to boot.  I am certain of myself I`ll be making some smaller A4's as well for my man-cave, because the sheer relaxation and "zen" it gave me was priceless.

As was the smile on Noshi's face as well!

Redo of Healer

Okay, so we watched perhaps the most discussed isekai of the past years... and not for good reasons.

Because the fact that this rather ecchi, violent and downright wrong story has gotten an anime adaption, made many frown in advance.

Not me though, ecchi is nice teeheeeheeeee... now we did watch the censored version, afterwards we found ep 1 uncensored and that gives a whole other, well, experience as in the censored one whole scenes are either cut or changed.

Keyaru is a healer, who is being heavily abused physically, sexually and mentally by the rest of his party.  As he destroys a demon lord, he uses the Philosopher's Stone to reset the world to before his adventuring life began, and starts plotting his vengeance.  Suffering months of torture and abuse all over, the finally comes he has waited for, and he begins his vengeance by raping the princess Flare.  After he is done with her, he changes her face and wipes her memory, turning her into his personal toy.

He also buys an Ice Wolf Clan slavegirl whom he bonds to himself, and helps her extract vengeance against the slavers of her village, as does he enthrall legendary swordsmaster Kureha.  When captain leonard enslaves the inhabitants of his old village, and violates his childhood friend Anna into death, he tricks him into captivity.  He performs his appearance changing skills on him, turning him into a woman surrounded by his men, high on a strong aphrodisiac.  As they rape their captain, he puts the place on fire... yeah, this isn`t your normal anime...

When his fellow villagers are executed, he lights the fuse of rebellion against princess Norn (Flare's younger, and even more perverted sister) and the kingdom as a whole, wanting to bring it all down.  He seals a pact with the future demon lord Eve Ries, the one he defeated before resetting time, and continues by taking his vengeance against former party member Blade.  As Norn attacks the city and kills his only friend, she triggers his ultimate vengeance on her as well.

Well, the concept of the series is pretty cool, and I can appreciate some well placed lewdness in my stories (Sin Nanatsu or Queen's Blade for example), I felt a lot of it in this case was rather misplaced, or just gratuitous because they just *had* to include a certain amount of fan service per episode.

I must admit, this severly influenced my score on MAL, trop is trop, though I am still curious how the story will continue.  But that will be in an uncensored version then for sure!

Mortal Kombat

 Fight!  Flawless Victory!  FINISH HIM!

Heck, did I look forward to this movie, as it is a part of my childhood.  And I loved the 1995 incarnation.

The movie starts epic, with Bi-han (Sub Zero) assassinating Hanzo (Scorpion) and his family, but the bloodline is saved by Lord Raiden.  Centuries later, a young cage fighter, Cole Young, suddenly gets involved in a battle for the freedom of Earthrealm.

Together with other chosen champions, namely Jax, Liu Kang, Kung Lao and Kano and supported by Sonya Blade, they must face off a plot by Shang Tsung to assassinate them before the next tournament begins.

This leads to the betrayal of Kano to Outworld, but as he is later killed by Sonya she inherits his Dragon mark and allows her not only to release her inner power, but also join the ranks of champions.  Unfortunatly, their greatest hope Kung Lao falls in the battle.  With the help of a returning from hell Scorpion, they overcome the attackers, Sub Zero being the last to fall, and set out in search for new companions and prepare for Mortal Kombat.

Okay, so grapically an impressive movie, and seeing the old fatalities brought to the screen in all their gorey detail was cool, but the fact is, this is a thin movie.  It's basically the run up to a tournament, so hopefully a sequel will come with that actually happening.  There is no Johnny Cage (boo hiss) but in the closing scene there is hinted to his upcoming presence (hoozaaah), and quite a few characters from the game are now quite dead.

The new Cole guy is pretty lame, and to be honest, apart from the opening scenes and the Kano characters, this isn`t even a good movie, which is a bad thing.  It definitly can not stand up to the 1995 movie!

But heck, let's give it the benefit of the doubt and see where it will go from here on, IF there are going to be new instalments...

Planning to digitalise the blog to YouTube

Okay, so another of my madman ideas!

Or actually, the idea of training and teaching myself some decent video editing skills, and doing something with the efforts.

I`ll explain it all in this small clip as such:

Wish me luck, I`ll need it being the dinosaur that I am...

The Haul Report 290

Last weekend, I received my parcel from Canada containing a fresh LunaMaria for the collection.

As well as some other Gundam SEED figures.

I did a post on them earlier this week, so feel free to have a look back a few posts down below.

I also grabbed some "essentials" in the form of a small frame for pins, and at last the frame for the Yuno painting so I can at last varnish and finish it!

So that's a good week without spending an exorbirant amount of ping-ping hehe.

Weiss Schwarz Date A Live booster opening

 Booster pack opening today!

And it's for my very first cards of the Weiss Schwarz cardgame.

I don`t have any plans on actually playing this game, nor collecting full sets.  But I do hope to grab some nice character representations from all the various lines, and if I`m very lucky to actually score some of those autograph cards that are ultra rare scattered in the ranges.

I grabbed the boosters through cardMarket from Spain, at 15 euro for the 3, so let's open these 8 cards each packs up.  And see what we got out of them, and if there is some "value" amongst the non keepers...

So that's it, the contents of the booster packs.  Looking over the 160 cards list for this series, we have the following worthy pulls for my "to keep" binder... Yoshino and the expensive Tokha.

Now to go list the other ones!

The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part

Long overdue, but finally me and Noshi sat down and watched the second Lego movie.

Now, I loved the first one, and it ended with a cliffhanger as aliens from planet Duplo invaded Bricksville.

In this second part, we jump forward 5 years, and our heroes are under a constant assault.  Living in a sort of Mad Max-ian wasteland, protected by Batman after the disappearance of the Justice League.  One day, an alien called General Mayhem kidnaps Emmet's friends and he gives chase to free them.

This leads him to an encounter with Rex, a minifig who personifies everything Wyldstyle wants Emmet to be.  Together they try and overcome the evil queen and free their gang.  But as Lucy works from the inside with them, as one by one they seem to become enthralled with her, it turns out there is more to it then expected.

The queen and Batman are about to get married when Emmet interferes, thinking Lucy who has figured out the truth is also brainwashed.  But she was right, as they all want to just play together... or face oblivion in a cleaning box.

Where the first movie was about an estranged father having lost his imagination, this movie handles about his son and daughter, who have to learn to play together with their LEGO.

While an amusing (and absurd) movie, it didn`t give me as much laughs as the first one did though.  Never the less, it is still a good afternoon watch and personally a nice bit of nostalgia...
