The Pierre Volante carries the dubious honour of being the first ship lost by the Junkyard Fleet of Quinnsville, as it wrecked itself onto a sandbank near Berelli on a trade voyage.
Send out to haul flowers to make dye from, she ran into bad weather with all the disastrous consequences. The Pierre Volante, bought from the Olean shipwright Franco Clarke, completed a few succesfull trade runs before her unfortunate demise.
I tried to represent the wreck using the colourscheme Franco initially used, being black timber for the hull with a brown mast. May she be remembered fondly, even though she was only a footnote in the history of BoBS.
