Warhammer Store Antwerp Underworlds Event October 2025

So, time for a final "Embergard rules and scrolls" event before we move on to Spitewood.

Warhammer store Antwerp organised a tournament with an OP kit past weekend, but due to the short period after the official Spitewood release the rules and bands for Embergard would still be in play instead.

And of course we all received a nice little bundle of goodies from the kit.

So that meant another outing for my hyper-aggro Thricefold Discord then, for an event that would take 3 rounds.  We had 8 players attending, and the loot would be divided apart from the goodies set with the glass shard for the winner, and the board for the most fun player.  So of I went, still knackered from a "darkest Halloween party" the night before and by far not enough sleep...

My first game was a rematch of the final round in Alost III, as I faced Wouter and his Ephilim's Pandemonium.

And it kind of went the same, with the Tzeentch demons being tabled before round 3 started in a flurry of Slaanesh bully'ing.   As a result, 22-14 was on the scorecard and we where off to a rocket start...

For the second round, it was another bout in the ongoing battle of the veteran gamers.  I faced Johan, who is going stateside next week, having inherited the Into the Under-Ekeren Golden Ticket back in august, and his Zarbag's Gitz.  Nine delving bodies on the table versus my three demons, this might be tricky...

But it actually never became a true match, as I quickly took out the squigs and his leader before going on a rampage amongst the surviving Gitz.  In the end I didn't table him though, as he made a final save roll in my last activation, leaving him with a single Gitz archer on a single wound left.  But the result was an impressive 22-12 victory for the Thricefold Discord.  This round would also normally be cut in half somewhere at halftime, for the lunch break, but we actually went through it in about 35 minutes...

And after lunch, that brought us to the finale of the tournament, against Wim and his aggro Ironsoul Condemnors.  FINALLY in the 7th game I get to play Stormcasts, the warbands where my deck was build for.

It started with his big hammer guy barely surviving Lascavyr's opening assault, before my lawnmower was taken down.  I then took out one of his, before he brought down Vashtyss.  But then his survivors, each having had some wounds, where stuck in a corner with Vexmor in range, and his leader went down.  He Illusonary Fighter'ed his survivor on two wound away, but we settled on a fair duel, neither agreeing to push the other for three rounds of smashing into each other to close the match.  Vexmor at that point had 6 health, 3 defence dice, 3 attack dice with grievous and granting flanked, re-roll one attack dice and would heal if pushed back.   He had 2 wounds left, and then I also tempted his Cleave upgrade away for one where he couldn't be flanked or surrounded, resulting in the Stormcast being crushed like a can of coca-cola and a 22-15 tabled victory for the Discord...

And so the tournament ended, and I had smashed through all three opponents, ending with by far the biggest glory differential which would be used for ties (and ofc, we had two people with exact differentials in second).

1. Tomsche / The Thricefold Discord - 3 wins, + 24 glory
2. Johan / Zarbag's Gitz - 2 wins, 1 loss, + 3 glory
2. Wim / Ironsoul's Condemnors - 2 wins, 1 loss, +3 glory

4. Peter vd Broeck / Ironsoul's Condemnors - 2 wins, 1 loss, +2 glory
5. Thibaud / Grandfather's Gardeners - 1 win, 2 loss, + 3 glory
6. Wouter / Ephilim's Pandemonium - 1 win, 2 loss, - 4 glory
7. Peter vd Bossche / Emberwatch - 1 win, 2 loss, - 8 glory

8. Philip / Kamandora's Blades - 3 loss, - 23 glory and winner of most sporting opponent for the limited edition board.

And thus the tournament came to a close, meaning one more remains this year in the rather well-filled Flemish calendar, and that one is in Halle end of november.  Where Spitewood will be used, so it's time for my boy Elathain to come back out to play, woohoo.

Time to rub that tattoo for some luck! Thanks to Peter vd Bossche and Johan for the additional pictures.
