Gakuen Babysitters

 So time for a break from isekai's and mecha's as this is the most recent anime me and Noshi have been "couching" in the evenings.

And it is a slice of life, but with a seriously comical intake to it.

Because the stars of the show are a bunch of toddlers taking the stage!  Kashima and his young brother Kotaro are orphaned after the plane of his parents crashed.  But the old chairwoman of a prestigious school takes them in, providing food and lodgings.  In exchange, Kashima must become the first member of the Babysitters club, to take care of his young brother and the toddler's of the teachers during his off hours from school.

This quickly leads to a heap of hilarious situations, as he not only has to cope with the little people, but also with the students of the school.  But slowly, he gets other warm to help the severly understaffed club out, like gifted top student Inomata or the cool Kamitami, elder brother of toddler Taka.

 

The fun thing about this series, while having the overarching theme of the two brothers coping with the fact they lost their parents, is that it isn`t a depressive series at all.  Most of the episodes consist of two shorter "adventures" of the students of the daycare center, so it never feels drawn out.

 

 

The series also has a 13th episode special, taking place as Kashima needs to do his mid-term exams, as well as a very special take on Snow White...

 

Truly a hidden gem out there, and well worth to watch.  Just be warned: cuteness overload guaranteed!
