Spellcaster issue 2

Time for the second issue of Spellcaster, the excellent Frostgrave magazine produced by it's creator, Joseph A. McCullough.

And available through DriveThru if you are still looking to pick up a copy of this 2017 released magazine in PDF format.

And the cover says it all: Dragons!

In the editiorial, Joseph discusses on how the idea to include these magnificent beasts came along, due to a visitor at his stand in Adepticon.  And so it came to be, the first article detailing these magnificent creatures and how you can encounter them in the Frozen City.  But be aware, even a Young Dragon is already a formidable opponent for a warband, let alone the Old Dragons that can raze entire cities!

It also includes the scenario The Lair of Gremolean, in which the warbands must work together to overcome the thread of one of these formiddable foes.

Les impressive but not less dangerous, the second article details the use of traps in the Ghost Archipelago.  From pits to swarms of bees, all kinds of dangerous encounters can be sprung by the unwary as they investigate the secrets of the jungle.  With The Dead Keep It, a solo scenario for the setting is included featuring these traps, as the warband enters a hidden tomb.

Frostgrave Mech War is a small side game system, allowing to use the Frostgrave rules engine for some mecha powered battling, as well as a scenario for using them.

The Bridges of Mal Dreath is an article refurbished from an other, older magazine, presented here for the easier accessibility for Frostgrave fans, in which erratic moving bridges need to be crossed to get to the treasure.

Ending with the mailbox and a view of what is to come for the game, this was another great 40 page magazine for one of the most fun games to come out the last decennium.
