The first friday of the month has passed, so the monthly paintporn was in store once again.
And it's a "40k month" issue again, so that should be good for rules as the main themer is the updated Assassins rules.
Even though I don't have the ability to field those (yet, I can always use my Renegades as regular guard, OR grab Cypher as my warlord due to a loophole), I must say I swayed for AoS after all, starting to collect an army for the AoS big battle 2020 as a result... so those articles are now peaking my intrest as well.
So what is all in the magazine this time? Well, let's have a look.
Introduction and contact
Worlds of Warhammer: an article about making your own worlds to play on.
Rules of Engagement: how are points decided in units for AoS
Empty Graves: a short story
Battle for Techuan's Key II: a reboot of the old 40k Carnage scenario from 2000, now set in AoS
The Realm of Life: a look at the Jade world, and this will probably be the one I'll base my force in as well (ow, for those wondering, I picked the Deepkin).
Creating a Battlefield: painting tips for your scenery
The Maker of Heroes: an interview with guest editor Phil Kelly
Glory Points: a look at how warbands are developped for Underworlds
Echoes from the Warp: NOVA Open 2018
Index Imperialis - Assassins: the big bunch of new rules and fluff for the agents of the Assassinorum
Before the Storm: a short story
The Warlords of Vigilus: the Tale of Four Warlords returns this month, and the forces of Vigilus are the chosen factions
Guards of the Emperor: a Knightly force is the featured army of the month
Wrath and Glory: a look at the new Warhammer 40k roleplaying game
Green is Good: the playbook for Goblins in Blood Bowl
The Buried Dagger: a look at the final book of the Horus Heresy series
Horus Heresy Reading Order: part one of this very handy guide!
Inside the Studio
And next month, it'll shift back to Age of Sigmar... but it will be yet another chamber of Sigmarites though, The Hallowed Knights. That's pretty lame tbh after getting those blokes last month as well.
For the rest it was an enjoyable issue, but for new rules a rather poor one, with ONLY the assassins as material to use in games this time round. But the paint articles and the "stuff around games" though look to be good reads so yes, I find this an issue of whch almost every article is tickling my intrest!
