Let's just say that the most recent series me and Noshi finished wasn`t one that required deep thinking or concentration.
The Bureau is an australian wizardry series developped for Nickolodean, and with an age label of 7+ we knew it was just light hearted entertainment.
And that is exactly what it did, making it something ideal for after a working day. Counting 20 episodes of about 23 minutes each, this is as long as an average anime these days, so two or three episodes before bedtime where perfectly feasible.
Kyra is a young teenage girl who one night, during a jogging run, touches a strange hovering book. This reveals she has magic in her, as she can suddenly see Fairies and Elves, but also that she is connected somehow to a mythical, powerful artifact called the Orb of Lemuria.
She gets enrolled in professor Maxwell's, a bookstore owner, school for magical being and builds friendships with the fairies Lilly and Ruksy, as well as the elven siblings Imogen and Darra. Together they learn how to chase and catch escaped magical phenomena, training as they are for one day a job in the DMI.
But more sinister things are taking place behind the walls of the Department of Magical Investigations, as a coup is being staged to bring the magical community to the front instead of the current hiding away from humans, and Kyra finds herself right in the centre of it all...
As I said, some lighthearted entertainment for easy to watch tired evenings, but I must admit it wasn`t even halfbad considering all those factors...
