Ah, the benefits of lazy days, as we managed to wrap up this series as well after starting it last year.
Now, I liked the original season, thought 2 was still fine, but what about this third (and final) year?
The series conintinues with the timejump we made in season 2s finale, and humanity is sterilized due to the actions of the Shepherd's. Now, time has been kind on our team, as none have aged one day... and we find Mitch again, being released from his hibernation tank.
The team in the meantime, guided by the miraculously pregnant Clementime, reassembles as they set out to retrieve him, while bing faced by new hybrid monsters. Led by Abigail Westbrook, who turns out to be Jackson's sister, and a layer of mysteries the hybrids attack and expand over the globe.
Our heroes must find a way to stop not only her but also her beacons she is activating across the globe, and which draw the beasts towards them, rampaging over cities as they go...
Now, this season was far weaker then the previous two in my opinion. The "immortality" of both heroes and villain alike, the "let's add another family conncetion somewhere" syndrome and the bit farfetched hybrid theories, have it deviate a long way from the original series concept. I'm ordering the book soonish to see how that is, but this last year was a bit of a let down compared to the first two.
And it ends with an open ending, as the baby is kidnapped, the wall breached... and the series cancelled.
