Sense 8 season 2

I loved the first season, but due to circumstances never gotten round to the second... until I recommended the series to Noshi, and she thundered through season 1.

So now I finally got to watch the conclusion of this very special special series, which is 12 episodes long but includes both "long episodes" that where released almost a year before and after the actual season.

Now, to be honest, my first gripe with the series is that "Van Damn" has been recast, and the new version is like 7 times as big as the first one, doing away imho with Caspheus innoncent look.

In this second season, the cluster is planning to strike back against the BPO, and Whispers in particular, as they delve deeper into the secret of Angelica.  Trying to figure out what now exactly transpired and why they are hunted, they discover a plot to create "robot sensibles" by lobotimizing sense8's, and use as a weapon.  But as such, they also learn they are far from alone, but unfortunatly there are also those clusters who have collaborated with BPO.

During the hunt for Whispers, they encounter such a cluster whom is apparently in league with the chairman, and the mysterious vice-chairman, in order to protect themselves.  This leads them to try and capture one of the cluster to find out who the others are that way...

And add to that the various personal side-arcs of the characters that come into play, making it not easy to co-ordinate their efforts all the time.

A great series, but the finale let me a bit with a sour taste.  The "blow up the baddies with a rocket launcher" just felt a bit to un-epic for the whole tension and story the series had build up, and the Laguna suddenly appearing out of nowhere, without any decent hints of it's existence beforehand is a bit odd.

But all in all, it was another fantastic series, and it really is a pity they ended it.  Though as we all know with dragging out to long for the crowds demands (which Mr Straczynski probably remembers from season 5 of Babylon 5...), it is better to end on a high note, like Sense8 did.
