Recently, Noshi and me where zapping around when this 2017 movie was about to start on a local channel.
Starring Antonio Banderas and Ben Kingsley, we decided to watch it as such, even if it was just some no brainer friday night entertainment.
Eddie is a discharged ex-military man, estranged from his wife and daughter. Through an employment agency, he gets a job offer to work as a security agent in the local mall, and he starts that same night.
But during that first night, a girl comes knocking the doors in panic. It turns out she is a witness and on the run for mercenaries, and Eddie and the other security guards take her inside and try to protect her. But one by one they are taken out by the mercenaries, even though they put up a big fight.
Eddie manages in the end to overcome them, and save the girl, but at great costs amongst his newfound collegues and "spark" (though what happened to the female guard, she was put in a bed wounded... and then forgotten it seems).
It wasn't a deep or smart movie, but it was just what one needs after a mentally taxing workday: pure entertainment.
