Maze Runner: The Death Cure

Me and Noshi sat down to watch the final instalment of the series, and while I liked the first one, the second one was to much Hunger Games to my liking.

So let's see what this one brings though...

The movie starts with a train robbery, in which the cargo are the last "Gladers", people immune to the Flare virus that ravages the world.  As their friend is not on the train, they head to The Last City, headquarters of the WCKD (those responsible for operating the Maze etc) to free him.

Spurring the seeds of rebellion, they manage to break in while the city wall is destroyed, and the populace from outside the walls storms in, besieging and looting the city as they go.  As Thomas gets captured and tested, it is discovered that his blood contains the antigen for the deathly disease (and hence the movies name).  As he and Teresa escape from Janson, the city collapses and Teresa looses her life in the process.

The Right Arm resitance then manages to get their ship out to sea, and Thomas awakes on an island, where they will live out their lives in safety...

So yeah, no, naaah... not to wild about this instalment at all.  It really made me think of that "other" survivors rebel against the government movie (see my intro lines) and well, naaah...

Panem Today...
