Boys and their toys: Lego Star Wars

Well, the little one got this Lego Star Wars Republic Striker-class Starfighter from the Old Republic range for his birthday.

Guess what I have been doing this night ;-)

Now, I always had Lego myself when I was his age (that being over 2 decennia ago now) and boy, do I wish I was his age again if you see the quality of the Lego kits these days.  I saw like an 'Egyptian adventuring range' and a 'Frankestein like' range even when strolling the toystore, and nearly started drooling again....

The kit comes with wings that can clap together, missiles that 'kinda' launch (to prevent 7 year olds to shoot each others eyes out) and miniature versions Satele Shan, T7-01 (tempted to steal that little droid) and a Republic Trooper...

  1. Just wonderful! Lego has certainly come a long way, but still very tempting for us all.

  2. Nice one. I do still enjoy sitting down sometimes and messing up with lego. It makes my mind work much better.
Besides the price, the only criticism to be made is that while keeping many very speficic ranges, there aren't much 'generic' sets of blocks to buy.

  3. We have a lot of legos around the house now. Once my daughter got to be about 4-5, I started getting some for her and some for me. When I think she is doing to be done with them my son will be old enough to start playing with them so they will get a good 10-15 years of play out of them.

I personally mainly stick to original trilogy stuff and the new lord of the rings sets. This set did not really get me but I do plan on getting the similar Z-95 headhunter coming out next year since I remember it from the X-Wing computer game series.

  4. Very cool. I'm quite fond of lego tbh, I don't have any anymore and can't get my girls interested in it for long to be honest. I will try again I think muwhahahah

  5. It was great fun tbh, for my part the little munchkin can ask all the Lego he wants for the holiday seasons ;-)
