The End of the F***ing World

The hit series from Netflix from the beginning of the year according to reviews, Noshi and me started watching this show.

And she quit after two episodes, as the dark british humor isn`t her cup of tea.

Tonight, I sat down and watched the remainder of the rather short series, consisting of 8 episodes of about 20 minutes each.

James and Alyssa are two disfunctional 17 year olds who by chance run off from home together.  While they both have different motives, they get stuck in big problems as James is forced to murder a man that wants to rape Alyssa, and they start falling in love with each other.
As they can`t return home, they decide to search for Alyssa's estranged father... but the police is starting to get on their trail.

Okay, it was enjoyable, but it was by no way as epic as the reviews made it out to be.  Sure, it's an oddity in story and the jokes at times made me giggle without bursting out loud, and it is well written with atwisty ending.

But being the 100% Rotten Tomatoes hype from a month ago... no, that I don`t grasp.
