Though a smaller season then the preivous two, the 7 parter made by Dreamworks follows some of the original story in a new style.
After the disappearance of Shiro, the team as such is a Paladin short, as the Black Lion is now without a pilot.
It is Keith who takes control, just like Shiro always wanted, while Lance moves from the Blue to the Red lion to become his red hand. Like in the original series, it is princess Allura who takes command now of the blue lion instead.
Eventually, Shiro returns, seemingly not killed by Zarkon. The evil lords empire is now ran by his son lothor, who is a totally different kind of overlord, using more guile and cunning then brute force, making him a force to be reckoned with.
But the Black Lion doesn`t reject Keith for Shiro, giving the team the problem of two leaders in one place...
The series is excellently made and has a strong storywriting like the previous two seasons. And it`s great to see the character development switch to Keith, Lance and Allura in this season, moving from the Shiro-centric placement before
Form Voltron and bring on season 4!!!
