A 12 episode anime from 2017, Clockwork Planet is based on a manga from 2013.
It`s a sci-fi show with some romance and comical relief thrown in, and an enjoyable viewing experience due to the colourpalette used, being not all grimdark and such.
When Earth was about to die out, a genius called Y rebuild the entire planet using gears and clockwork mechanisms, renaming the Earth as Clockwork Planet. When a milennium later a young mechanics student, Naoto, finds one of the original Initial-Y series, RyuZU.
These automatons, created by Y itself, are top of the line models, and as Naoto repairs her they hook up with Marie, a master engineer.
Later, they find a second one, AnchoR, and they adopt her as their young daughter, as the government undertakes illegal experiments that threaten entire parts of the planet, and the team rushes out to prevent this.
It is, as I said, an enjoyable series, and easy on the eyes. The animation is topnotch, and the story is sweeping away, even though it at times looks like a children show like Naruto. Yet it has this special attraction. it`s not an epic show that will last in your memories for years, but it is a fun gig to watch and enjoy.
A nice little recomendation for an anime binge...
