A prestigious 8 episode by the AMC channel, Making of the Mob New York details the rise of Charles `Lucky` Luciano.
The series details his life from his arrival in the US as a poor immigrant son, to his death as an exiled Kingpin of Crime in Naples.
With this series, a new method of bringing the series is used. Instead of the usual historical pictures and fragments talked together by professors and the likes, this series is largely acted out. This results in a strong visual feel for the series, and it has short interviews inbetween not only by professors and authors, but also by actors like Vincent Pastore (The Sopranos), and Rudy Giuliani (ex-mayor of New York).
It is a very entertaining series for it`s historical value, and a strong way of presenting what otherwise could be dry `out of the book` material.
