Tattoo Age seasons 1 and 2

One of the things you do during calm night shifts, is looking on YouTube for some intresting docuseries.

And I stumbled upon Tattoo Age, made by Vice, a channel no longer on Belgian television providers.

Tattoo Age follows some of the great names in the american tattoo business.  Mike Rubendall, Dan Santoro, Valerie Vargas, Grime, the japanese tattoo duo Taki & Horitomo (which was the search hit that made me discover the series),... they all pass telling their stories.

It looks into how the industry changed over the years, what brought them to following a career in the business, as well of course showing some of their awesome pieces on screen.  But it also has a look at what influenced them, like Grime's episode looking at the Californian weed boom, or how Horimoto came to the States due to tattooing being a sensitive matter in his native Japan.

I only realised after a few nights of binging though that there are actually 2 seasons and I was watching them through each other.  First I picked those about styles that intrest me mostly, then watched the rest.  But this is a very intresting series to follow if you like tattoo's and the art it is all about.  Every episode runs between 30 to 45 minutes, but mind that some on the Vice YouTube channel are split in a few parts, so some puzzling might be required to get the correct watching order.  Because, well, YouTube algorythm's...

Definitly good and informative entertainment!
