Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn RE:0096

Gundam Unicorn was one of the jaw dropping mecha series of the past years, released in 7 OVA volumes.

Now, these have been rebroadcast split up in 22 episodes, with some minor modifications

Plot

Bannagher Links is a normal schholboy who becomes involved with a girl, Audrey Burne.  However, this is actually Minerva Zabi, princess of Zeon, from the original Gundam timeline, as this is a follow up.  Bannagher comes in control of a mysterious new mobile suit, the Unicorn (an hommage to Amuro Ray) and equipped with a psycho frame that increases the suits power.

While the Sleaves, led by Full Frontal (a clone of Char!) hunt for the suit, Bannagher teams up with Londo Bell to keep the suit out of the wrong hands and uncover the secret of the Laplace Box.

Opinion

The sotry remains great, the animation is still top notch, and the suit is awesome.  This remains a fantastic outing in the Gundam franchise.

Now, these rebroadcast episodes have only minor additions in animated sequences, as well as a narration between episodes by Full Frontal, and some new music theme endings.
If you`ve seen the OVA, then there won`t be much here except a trip down memory lane.  If you never saw it in the OVA format, watch it, it`s some of the best Gundam around.
