Spellcaster issue 5

 Today we are having another look at a Spellcaster magazine, the 5th issue in the series.

And that is a magazine centered mostly around Frostgrave, but also it's derogative game systems, whom are all highly enjoyable.

 

The main article however is about top level Heritors for the Ghost Archipelago game (basically, Frostgrave in the jungle with pirates and lizardmen).  The article details how to bring the campaign to running smoothly once your characters have evolved to these near super-human levels, and rightly so for surviving so many dangers for so long, as well as their crews.

Monster Hunting is for Frostgrave, which brings in play a system of variable XP depending on the monsters that are being killed during games.  Come with it are two new Legendary Soldier classes, the Potion Master and the Monster Hunter.  And it also has a solo scenario to boot with The Big Score, where a Monster Hunter and 2 soldiers fo after an enemy.  This is one scenario I'll definitly run during my upcoming solo games sessions for my YouTube channel.

Next we get a look at the Geek Nation Tours free Potionmaster miniature which you could receive when booking a Frostgrave holiday with them.

Barbarian Hack is a new mini-game mode for Frostgrave, standing alone from the main game.  Quick to play, and solo, this is a small game that puts a Barbarian against some monsters, and taking about 5 minutes for a game!  Using a barbarian, 4 monsters, 2 dice and a 9x9 grid, this will also be played out for my channel in the future for certain!

On the other side of the spectrum, we get The Towers of Khordaire, a big game multiplayer for Frostgrave.  Complete with player hand-outs and all, this will require a nice big and elaborate gaming table, you know, the real eye candy stuff!

The Failed Breed is a regular 2 player scenario, putting the wizards not only against each other, but also against a breed of failed experimental monsters.  

And there we have it, the fifth issue of this excellent magazine, and with a bit of everything for everyone this time round!  I'll definitly be playing some of the material in here soon, so watch this blog or my YouTube for more on the matter!
