Pokemon TCG: do or don't?

Okay, so me and Noshi started playing Pokemon GO again.

Or rather, walk marathons in search of the little pocket monsters...

But this might result in a (renewed) intrest in Pokemon the card game, and I'm considering getting the starter Trainer set for 2 players with mini decks, to learn to play.

Wikihow has a decent "How to Play" guide though, found HERE, but the question is mostly that after the whole Magic career, am I willing to invest in a competitive deck once again, or just go with the flow and play some casual League games in the local card chucker den...

And if I do, will Noshi join me, as she likes those anime thingies a lot as well.  Seems some stuff to think about for now...
