The first completed series of the year 2019, me and Noshi took a whole day off to finish some series we started last year.
In other words, we where recuperating from a very hefty birthday party... aka a humongous hangover.
The second year follows Wil and the druid Allonon as they further prepare him to face off the forces of evil. Allonon's former apprentice, Bandon, is set out to resurrect the Warlock Lord, and after the fall of Arborlon has as such less opponents to deal with in this dark goal.
The kingdom of Leah, which protects the Heavenswell, now rises to the central position of the story as such, as a marriage of reason is being planned between king Ander and princess Lyria. In the meantile, general Riga and his army of fanatical magicuser hunters, the Crimson, are out to destroy all magic users in the Four Lands.
At great cost to thrust and friendship amongst the heroes, who are joined by Mareth, Allonon's daughter and heir to the role of great druid, they try to prevent the ressurrection, but fail as Bandon manages to summon the Warlock Lord... with all dire consequences.
The series was in my opinion better then the first series, but episode 8 kind off annoyed me. In this one, half a dozen loose end minor characters are killed off just for the sake of tying their stories up it seems, and get them out of the way for the big finale.
But it was enjoyable on a "Xena level" of series, and a bit pity no third season will come...
