Time to scratch off the second anime Noshi so far had only watched, as we dived into Elfen Lied, an older anime from 2004.
And this is a gory, ecchi, action packed series. Shattered are my images of my girl being a sweet and calm creature...
The story revolves around Lucy, an aggressive and violent member of a an evolution of mankind, called Diclonius. They are mostly set apart by their two horn like portrusions on their head, and the fact they can wield invisible telekinetic arms called "vectors" to devastating results.
Lucy escapes from a facility, slaughtering all present bar the director, and escapes into the city. But during her escape she gets hit and starts suffering from memory loss, thinking she is a young innocent girl. Two students, Kouta and Yuka, find her and take her in with them. Caling her Nyu, as that is the only sound she seems to be able to utter.
But the institute wants her taken out, and they hire a violent, guncrazed assassin to hunt her. However, during their confrontation he is quikcly outmatched, losing and eye and an arm to her. But later when they take her along to their school, their professor notices that she is Lucy, recognizing her as he is a male experiment of the Diclonius himself. Director Kurama activates another Diclonius to hunt her, Nana, as in a flashback it is revealed she was seriously mangled by Lucy in the past.
But soon Nana comes into contact with Nyu, and a bond starts forming between the two, as well as with Kouta and Yuka. This results in her no longer wanting to kill Lucy, but to turn on the institute that created them as well. As a final gamble, Kurama unleashes Mariko, his real daughter.
But she is also defeated by Nana and Lucy, and their institute initiate her self-destruct, her father holding her in a loving embrace as they blow up, reflecting on the mistakes he made in life and how he threated her. Thinking there is only one alive, Lucy is last seen withering a hail of bullets, allowing Nana to start living a peacefull life with her friends in the inn. But a silhouetted figure, resembling Lucy, seemingly rings their doorbell as the end credits roll...
So yeah, this wasn't to bad a series at all I must say, even though not exactly down my alley. And that is with all the ecchi.
I guess I need to observe my loved one some more, seems she has a sadistic streak hidden somewhere muahahaa
