Wait a moment, 30 degrees???? Are they nuts up there in the clouds?
Luckily, daddy had seen on his Coaster Cloud that only 15 minutes away from where we stayed on vacation, there was a zoo with an attraction and waterpark, Irrland, in Germany.
So we hoped in what he calls "his loyal workhorse" and of we went to this theme park that is themed all around ancient Rome.
The park is also HUGE, as we where there for an afternoon and we only did one of the three parts of the park. So after a welcoming speech from this odd fellow, the exploration began.
The park changes animal enclosures with playgardens and airplanes, which have been remade into slide housing.
It also has Circus Maximus, a huge indoor playground, or if you are really adventurerous, and older then 6 years, you can rent a raft and go fight it out on the Mare Nostrum, where people will also try to soak you from the sides.
This particular airplane slide had a lot of music and led lights inside, making it one big disco airplane.
Another fun thing they have all around the park are waterfilled bouncing pillows, like these small ones, but believe me I will come back to this later.
There is an airport and fire department section is this third of the park, where the firehouse is also the entrance to a long waterslide.
But the control tower of the airport is the big fun, as it contains a variety of slides on different heights, both with the bags you need to sit in as with regular tubular slides.
On the airport, there are also a variety of little planes, as I can be seen piloting here, which have, yup, you guessed it, slides at the back as well. My slide counter sure has been upped this day!
It was then time to watch some more animals in a fresh series of enclosures in the park, and these little chickens where just to cute.
Next I found a huge bouncing castle, build like an old temple, which of course required some decent quality controlling!
After passing through an animal enclosure for a breeding project of rare pheasants, including a very cute looking species I must say personally...
... I arrived at a waterworks place where you could wade through welcoming cold water on this hot day.
And there was also this huge slide, which I went on for multiple times with daddy. Boy where we soaked, and boy was it great fun!
Remember how I said I would come back to those huge bouncing pillows? Enter the Meer des Odysseus, a truly huge bouncing indoor pillow.
Which also had building blocks side rooms, both wooden ones as the more traditional plastic ones.
As a pirate tried to escape from a shark, we went back to the car and off to our vacation house, having spend a refreshing afternoon at Irrland. It was busy, which was to be expected with this weather, but it is so huge it didn't become an "to busy to be still fun" crowding.
Surely worth the visit, but one quick note, you MUST purchase tickets online before going to the park, you can't buy entrance at the door itself. I guess this is to prevent it from getting to crowded as such...
