We are back to our cosplay couple, as I got my hands on the latest volume of My Dress-up Darling, the 8th volume already.
And the story continues with Gojo and Marin preparing the costume to play Rei-sama.
The first order of business: creating a realistic wig, including a special hairline piece and all. But while they finish the costume, Gojo looks through a cross-play book again, feeling that something still is off and making him unsure as he tries to remember from the convention what it might be.
He figures out a way to make her costume more masculin, promising to modify it in before the pageant. Gojo also asks her when at the pageant to ask more masculin in her role. She learns posing as a male from a classmate, as all their friends chime in, even to make a rainbow rose.
But Gojo suddenly experiences anxiety on the pageant contest day, as a whole crowd gathered to see how he does her make up. But he realises he is okay with being the support that allows Marin to shine, and she sweeps away all competition in the pageant, bringing victory on the culture festival to her class.
At the afterparty, Gojo is celebrated as the man of the hour by his classmates, before he and Marin go to the arcade. But as she wants to have a photo booth picture with him, their classmates appear and ruin the moment, though she still has a decent picture of him now and a plushie he won for her in the arcade.
Now, let's wait for the next volume to come out in july I beieve, to see how our budding lovers evolve more and more in a relationship stemming from a mutual hobby...
