Yup, six weeks have gone by since I uploaded a 'flickthrough' of the latest White Dwarf magazine.
Which is not due to me being lazy for once, but because they changed release schedules and the magazine now comes out half of the month for who knows what serious reason...
But as they now have a new main editor, it's time to have a look at the contents in this issue.
As always, letters and readers's models are the first thing in the magazine.
In Worlds of Warhammer, Phil takes a look at some deities in Age of Sigmar, in this first part of a two episodes long series.
We move into this month's Age of Sigmar section, beginning with the Reignition short story.
Fantastical Realms takes us this time to the lands in the Realm of Beasts, with the whole smorgasbord of inspiration for this very savage land.
Rules of Engagement isn't written by Jervis this month, as Sam talks about the Trial of Skulls in this column.
The Tome Celestial this month brings a heap of new rules for The Vostarg Lodge, the crazed bunch of Slayers...
In Paint Splatter, hints and tips on painting the Lodge and it's kin is handled.
We then move into the Warhammer 40k section of the magazine, where Echoes of the Warp handles the design process of creating special rules. Now, if I'm allowed to voice my opinion here, I think he might be better off thinking over some of those rules instead of writing columns, because the current state of 40k is becoming a rulesoup again...
The Tale of Four Warlords - Vigilus Edition returns this month (apparently it was lacking from the previous edition due to it being christmas, when the magazine was written) as the armies gotten bulked out.
Next is a piece of short fiction in The Tithe Comes First.
This months Battle Report puts the Ultramarines against the Genestealer Cult, unfortunatly two forces that don't intrest me at all so I just flicked over to see who won... but won't spoil here.
The next thing is intresting though, as the datasheets for using the recent Daemons of Slaanesh are presented here, and I really like that Contorted Epitome, both in model and looks.
Hunt for the Lost Ring is the first of two parts for a MESBG Battle Companies narrative scenario campaign, suited to the forces of Evil and Sauron's desire to reclaim one of the lost Dwarven rings.
Next up is a look at the Chaosbane videogame. Which is set in the Old World, so great for nostalgics under us... like me.
In The Deadliest Mission, Kill Teams must fight it out inside... a Blackstone Fortress with this new set of missions to that end.
Talking Blackstone, A Deadly Lure is a scenario campaign in which your adventurers need to lure an Ambull to breach a vault.
Glory Points takes a look at devastating card combo's for Underworlds.
Much Ado About Halflings: the fanfavorite team for Blood Bowl has returned, and this issue takes a look at the why they are so popular enigma...
In the Black Library section, one takes a look at the heroes and villains as they interview Aaron Dembski-Bowden (who I think is one of the best BL writers around).
And he provides us with a short piece of fiction as well in Son of the Storm World.
We round out this month's magazine with the Inside the Studio section...
Next month is previewed on the back, and it's back to 40k... and *sigh* with yet another Imperial part, and ow yes, Space Marines ofc as the Blood Ravens make their apearance in the game.
All in all a pretty decent issue though, and I found quite some stuff intrsting (marked above in bold) that I will read with great intrest.
