And with almost a dozen participation games set up, the visitors could have a look at the wide variety of games that are played at the club, both official licensed ones as well as homebrewn rules ones.
Personally, me and Noshi where running a game of Burrows and Badgers, created, and sponsored, by Oathsworn Miniatures, in which participants would go on a hunt for the elusive Pikachu. I've posted a lot more pictures and clips about our own game a few days ago as well.
But there where other participation games on site as well. This excellent looking Freebooter table for example!
Jo was working on scenery for a variety of 40k related projects during 2019.
Wings of War was presented as well (and I even found a moment to play the game for the first time ever, but that is for a later post this week) with a variety of the planes present for the players to choose from.
The Battle of Woeringen 1288 was presented in Hordes and Heroes Medieval, scaled at 6mm.
The Battle of Asuf was able to be played by those willing for a game.
The housewritten viking era rules Raven Banner where presented as well on the open day.
Modern warfare in Spectre as control for the missile launcher system was fought over.
Eddy was present working on more papercraft scenery and figures.
A large 28mm Napoleonic battle was the demonstration mega game, using Rank and File, for today
Chain of Command was also available for those wanting to try a hand at the rules.
So a variety of games was indeed present, though it was perhaps a bit of a shame not a single Games Workshop was played, while there are usually 3 - 4 GW games ran every friday evening... but heck, if no-one wants to present one, we can't break an arm to force them now do we (or do we?).
It was an enjoyable day all in all, and I hope the visitors had a good time as well jumping into some of the games.
