Time for more of the Yaguchi's path to get into Tokyo Art University with the 6th volume of the Blue Period series.
And judging by where volume 5 ended, probably the last one that went in the anime's first season, so everything after this will be a new discovery for me.
We pick up with a struggling Yaguchi in the staircase to his exam room, as his hives are playing up heavily due to stress. But Maki and Takahashi help him to his classroom, where the oil painting assignment is painting a nude model.
Behind schedule as he fell asleep from exhaution on the first day, he goes in the second using glasses instead of contacts and a cooling pad tucked on his head, feeling rejuvenated. He starts his second day taking the unconventional route to make up for lost time. Still stuck on his theme, he remembers the words Ooba told him about his blue painting, and devises a plan to bring the nakedness forward on the canvas, to cover his lack of confidence in his skills with strategy.
But when Takahashi compliments him, he realises he might manage to do better then he expects. As the second exam finishes, he and his friends prepare for the graduation ceremony, but he first must go see the results of the exams. Takahashi passed them though, one of only three first years... as did Yaguchi!
He and Mori just miss out on each other again as he goes to the afterparty of his school's graduation ceremony...
So now yaguchi will attend TUA and a new arc begins, even unknown to me as this hasn`t been animated (yet?). I`m looking forward to the next volume!
