A four part mini-series that was labelled as "shocking", "sexy" and "kinky", based on the book Damage from 1991.
So we sat down behind the screen, turned on Netflix and gave it a watch.
Will is a succesfull surgeon, making fame when he seperates twins in a complicated procedure. Happily married and father of two, he seems to be on the fast track to a great career, especially when his father in law wants to make him a government official for the medical sector.
But at the inauguration party, he meets Anna, the fiancee of his son Jay. He becomes enthralled with her, and she invites him over a few days later to her appartment. Here she explains the rules to him, on how they will be having a master and servant orientated affair. Will loses himself totally in her, while trying to keep it all a secret for the outside world, especially his wife and son. So obsessed he is with her, he even follows them to Paris on a romantic weekend of the young couple...
But one day, Jay comes to her place, and finds them in the middle of it. As a result, he commits suicide before their eyes. Will sees his world, his career and his marriage crash and burn, while Anna just disappears. It hasn`t been the first time she ensnared someone into her web, resulting in a suicide, as it happened to her own brother as well. Will goes to search for her, but she turns him down and leaves to unknown places...
Okay, so I don`t get the hype about this series. Was it terrible? No. Was it good? Also no though. It is just a plain, nothing spectacular (or explicit, unless you want to see the Oakenshield's bare bottom) thirteen in a dozen drama series to be honest.
Oh well, guess that often happens with all those Netflix top 10 stuff they promote.
