Crisis 2018 : the aftermath

The first saturday of november, and that means only one thing: it`s time again for Crisis, our clubs annual wargame show.

Being the largest on the european mainland, we had more then 125 traders, 60 clubs and 2000 visitors this year, thanks everyone for participating!

Since yesterday, the build up had been undertaken, and then at 10 in the morning, the doors swung open for the 2019 edition.

With this huge a selection of traders, that meant there was a LOT for everyone's taste and wallet (my "scores" are for a post later this week, probably on monday).

So here is an oversight of the traders present, with of course the odd comment inserted here and there...

But a wargame show is more then just buying, it's all about camaraderie, and of course, GAMES, so let's have a look at the games on show, in both picture and video coverage.

Militia Brabantia using home made rules based on the Assassin's Creed videogame

Worean brought a small scale ACW battle along

 Spectre

A large table by Alde Garde

Two games brought by the Salute guys

That damsel seems to be in great distress

World War 2 was a very popular period to be presented at the show

A not so usual conflict brought to the table

A very nice looking trench warfare battle

A fantastic looking piece of scenery

A truly massive table by Old Pickey's

The Flemish Hobbit League, I will be dropping in on one or more of their events next year

The Berserkir game mixed in a lot of ranges to bring a battle based on Norse mythology

A modular trench system game by Ad Arma

I followed the progress on these ships through the Heroes's facebook posts, but it is still great to see it "for real"

The TSA Spina chariot race game

Swashbuckling adventures in Blood and plunder

Firestorm Armada, I loved the Saturn scenery piece

There was also the annual Bring and Buy of course

And the inner person could be satisfied thanks to our catering.

The show also hosted awards for those games of course, and a jury consisting of Chairman Johan, Honourable Chairman Willie and yours truly (who they still have to find an actual function for), went around and judged the games during the day, and listened to the comments of visitors and club members alike.  And it was a close affair, as only one of the winners was chosen by unanimous vote.

And here are the results as such:

For Best Presented Wargame: Militia Brabantia with their Assassin's Creed based game

The winner and yours truly

For Best Participation Game: need we say more, Too Fat Lardies with Smoke on the Water

Richard and Johan

For Most Innovative Game: World War 1 Trench Warfare by Ad Arma

The Ad Arma team and Willie

And as such, the show dwindled to an end, and after the break down it was time for the buffet and filling the by now very hungry attendees.

The show was a great success again this year, and after a few weeks of cooldown, it`s time to  start preparing for the next edition in 2019.

Thanks again everyone who made this show another big success!
