Gigant volume 8 - Hiroya Oku

 Our favorite adult movie star turned world saving heroine Papico is back in action!

In this eight volume of the series, she must face satan, a huge devil facing Tokyo.

But can she stop in, and in the meantime not only protect herself, but also her lover and her unborn child?  The stakes are high, as she comes to the rescue of the other time travelling soldiers as they engaged Satan.  Slowly about to be overpowerd, her intervening saves them from certain doom and together they destroy Satan.

But as they celebrate their victory, five more giant demons appear.  These are nowwhere as strong, and they can take them on easily.  But they are nothing but a decoy to buy Satan the time he needs to recover and regenerate.

Well, this volume is a bit of a serious let down.  I guess of all the chapters in the book, perhaps two of them had actual decent dialogue, for the rest being all spun out battle scenes with only a few sound effects added to it.  It would make a nice action packed episode in an anime, but from a reading point of view, the book is finished in no time due to this.

Hopefully the next, and penultimate, volume will be more satisfying when it arrives around the end of september.
