Tiger and Bunny 2 part 2

 Part 2 of the second season from this excellent superhero series is now on Netflix, so of course I jumped in to watch it.

And the heroes will now have to face the masterplan of Ouroboros, after defeating the twins in the first part.

The city of Stern Build becomes overrun with NEXT's who loose control of their powers and run amok in the city.  The many damages and injuries lead to the growth of an anti-NEXT movement in the public opinion as a result.

This makes the government decide that all NEXT, including the superheroes, need to be evacuated to designated areas to guard them.  But the result of this decision is that our heroes get suspended for now, leaving the city to dwindle into chaos and crime rates going up as the police can`t handle the fall out without the superhero assistance.  Ouroboros as such wants to bring Stern Build down that way to gain a stranglehold on the city.

As the segregation feelings against the NEXT keep being fuelled, the heroes, now decomissioned, have to try and keep the order in one way or another.  An old man approached Barnaby and Kotetsu, as a janitor he had witnessed the one creating the berserking NEXT, and now they have to try and find a way to catch and stop him.

But the villain, Gregory Sunshine, has Mattia under his control as well, and this makes it possible to evade the heroes and put Barnaby in a difficult situation.  A superbrain power NEXT, called Little Aurora and who has solved many world problems so far, is brought in as well to look at how it all spreads.  They figure out that behind Gregory the organisation and person that was behind the twins is still active as well.

 

When Yuri's mother is murdered by robbers in the now law-less city, he changes back into Lunatic and goes after the robbers, ruthlessly murdering one of them before Kotetsu steps in with Barnaby.  They can`t stop him killing the other robber, and instead are arrested on suspicion of murder.  Yuri bails them out, but drifts ever further in the madness.

Using a rouse for a commercial taping, the heroes get their suits back and in order to prevent going rogue, they go back into action as the team.  This will mean their licenses would be revoked, but all agree bar I Am Thomas who isn't present.  Gregory breaks out a lot of criminals, but to suprise of the police the heroes step in and contain the riot.

But he frees and empowers the "first villain" Audun as well, who has a twisted sense of justice, and quickly takes out Blue Rose and Golden Ryan before collecting his costume in the Hero Museum.  But the real plan is to have the major of Stern Bild assassinate Little Aurora, and spark a global conflict that way between people with and without powers.  But she is saved at the last minute by none other then Lunatic.  However, in the following scuffle he is being controlled now as Posicky's mind control power passes to him and goes after Little Aurora now himself.  

As Barnaby goes to help Wild Toger, I Am Thomas appears to help Mr Black hold back Audun.  They finally sync as a team, and while using a ruse they trick Aydun in lowering his guard and temporarily stopping him.  As Yuri breaks from the mind control, he acttually joins Tiger and Bunny in overcoming the enemy at last.  But Tiger's power fails him at last it seems, and the others band together to make sure he didn`t spend it all for nothing.

I really like this series, and it was another round of great fun.  This series remains in the shadow of "that other" superhero anime, but in the end it came before MHA, even though it took ages for the second season to appear.  But really, go watch this!
