The Quintessential Quintuplets volume 8 - Negi Haruba

Already halfway now in this loving manga series of Futaro and the Nakano siblings!

And we ended volume 7 not only with the quints actually passing their exams, but also Nino confessing her love for Futaro.

As the girls talk about passing their exams and Itsuki sharing she has deciced to become a teacher, Nino helps Futaro with the dishes.  She asks about what she said earlier, but he hasn`t heard it on the motorcycle.  She comes back on her steps though and tells him again, overheard by Ichika...

On his way to the supermarket, he runs into Miko who wants to play a lottery.  Due to a stroke of luck, he wins a trip to an onsen inn with a local tale of a bell that when rang by two people, they would stay together forever.  Upon arrival he runs into the quintuplets who are their as well with their father.

It turns out that the inn is ran by their grandfather, and to please him they all dress up the same for the occassion, making it all the more confusing for Futaro who can not manage to keep them apart, resulting in him not even knowing at times who he is actually talking to...

While Itsuki distracts their father, he wants to talk to the others but they let him do the Quintuplets game again, and he still can`t figure out who is who of the siblings.  Nino takes Ichika to the onsen to ask her how she must go about asking a boy on a date, not knowing that Ichika had overheard them.

She tries to dissuade Nino, but her sister has become a locomotive of love, out to swipe all away to get to her goal.  She tries to meet up with Futaro one night, when Yotsuba finds a crying Ichika in the hallway.  It turns out it was Miku who was the fake Itsuki that approached Futaro, as she wants to keep their student / teacher relation with the sisters status quo so she can muster the courage to tell him her feelings, and she is very glad he figured it out by himself she was the fake.

Apparently the sisters father had bought the vacation, faking the fact that Miku actually won with the lottery like Futaro did, a fact Futaro's dad mentions to the Nakano father.  But as they are all about to leave, Futaro is rushed by one of the sisters, who kisses him while ringing the bell of the legend... and while he confesses at the marriage five years later that that was where he developped his feelings for his bride, at the time he didn`t know which of the siblings it was.

And so we are ready to tackle the next volume of this loveable series, which I keep enjoy reading.
