Densha Otoko volume 1 - Hitori Nakano and Wataru Watanabe

Based on an actual cultural phenomena in Japan, of which to this day it can`t be said wether it really happened or not, Densha Otoko, or "Train Man" is a romantic comedy manga series.

Counting three volumes, I recently picked up this series through a seller I got to know on Facebook.

An otaku comes into contact on the train with the one thing he does not know: a woman.   He is an inherently cowardly guy, often imagining how things could have gone instead.  But when a drunk harasses people on the train including a girl his age, he suddenly and to his own suprise intervenes.

He talks to others on it on an online forum, going by the name Train Man, when one day he receives a pair of Hermess cups from the girl as a special thanks as well as her phone number.  He musters up his courage, supported by the other people on the forum, to give "Hermess" a call and after some telephones they agree to go out for dinner together.

A really fun series of the struggle of an otaku in modern day society, and how awkward introverts can feel in the most common of situations.  I personally look forward to reading the other volumes as well soonish!
