That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime volume 10 - Fuse and Taiki Kawakami

 The next book I read takes us back to the adventures of Rimuru, our beloved Slime ruler of the Forest Nation of monsters.

And we pick up as he leaves his home for now, to fullfil a promise to the late Shizu.

For that reason, he travels to Blumund, searching for Shizo's pupils and learning they are staying in Engrassia.  In order to travel safely, he registers with the Adventurer's Guild, making short work of the trials to decide his rank. 

But before he travels onwards, he enters negotiations with the nation.  He strikes a deal he believes is beneficial for both his monster nation and Blumund, only realising he might be played.  But he has no regrets, seeing it as a learning curve, and manages to drag out a trade deal for his potions afterwards as well.  And so his list of allied nations grows, before the time comes to travel to Engrassia.

Arriving there, he meets with Shizu's friend, the grandmaster of a school.  He is also summoned from our world, and after hearing Rimuru's tale about the fate of Shizu, decides to put his faith and trust in him.  He allows Rimuru to become the new teacher of her pupils, five children faulty summoned and as a result only have 1 or 2 years left before the magical energy stored in them would fatally consume them.  He earns their approval to teach them, and he makes a promise he will save their lives in the process.

So, another nice story in this already 10th volume of the series, and we are edging towards the end of the first season as such.  Now to get my hands on the next volumes and continue the journey!
