Lost in Space season 2

The second season of this Netflix exclusive series, starring the always fantastic Toby Stephens, was binged by Noshi and me during the lockdown.

And I liked it as much as the first series, it's good news season 3 has been confirmed, but sadly it will be the final one as well.

Picking up months after the last season's finale, the Robinsons, together with Don West and "dr Smith" are stranded on a water planet.  They device a plan to return to the Resolute, but arriving there the ship seems abandoned bar a half destroyed robot they mistake for TARR.

However, the ship has evacuated to the planet nearby, and TARR is actually "Scarecrow", a robot that clandestinely pilots the vessel, as it turns out the Resolute has been build around the crashed vessel on Earth years ago.  Hastings, the big guy behind the screens, finally makes his appearance, but he wants to abandon the colonists on the planet in favour of getting to Alpha Centauri.

The Robinsons try to thwart this as Will looks to find Robot back, even going as far as staging a mutiny, but when the robots attack to retrieve the engine, the family gets split up... and the season ends.

It was a great ride once again, and it is a refreshing take on the classical sci-fi series having a good pace and not to many mistakes... and one we are curious how it will be explained in season 3...
It has some great vistas as well, and the CGI for the space sequences (that "space whale!!!") is of a very high level, making it actually all seem, well, realistic.

Though as Noshi noted: "if Judy is now 19, and her father disappeared 20 years ago on the Fortune, then how can they find the signal as they should have been on route as well for months on end..."
