Star Trek Attack Wing NX Class unboxing

While STAW isn`t a game I`m looking to get into per se, it has starships, it has Star Trek, it has my intrest.

And this NX class is the one that finally made me bite the bullet, and the first model of the range I have bought.

Now, I did opt for the Deep Cuts line.  This is a series of (not all, yet?) vessels for the game but unpainted, only primed (in Vallejo primer btw) and ready to be painted by yourself.

The game doesn`t use exact scaling, and that is something I cheer about.  I prefer the ships to just "look good" next to each other on the table, instead of exact measurement because the NX would be a microscopic dot next to a Borg cube for example.

Opening the package, we get the excellently detailed vessel, the flight stand and a very, very impressive decal sheer.  Why?  Because it allows for no less then 4 vessels out of 2 factions to be made as a result.

On the one hand, it can be used to make the Starfleet vessels Enterprise and Columbia, both seen on show, but it can also make it's Terran Mirroruniverse image as well as the ISS Avenger, and the yellow stripes of the Terran Empire (remember that awesome opening in s4 for the Mirror Universe episodes!) are included, as well as some battle damage and the likes.

So a great looking little model, and a cool set to start building a STAW force with :-), perhaps the only downside is that the pack doesn't include ship tokens or cards of any sort compared to the prepainted ones, but for now we can start painting... and use it in totally different games!
